Adopt Ringo a Black - with White Border Collie / Australian Shepherd / Mixed dog

Ringo is an aussie border-collie. He's three years old, and in excellent physical condition. Due to a separation with my wife, my daughter, dog and I recently moved in with grandfather, my mom and my brother. It takes him time to warm up to people he isn't used to being around. This includes strangers, obviously. He is high energy and needs lots of exercise, activity and interaction. Unfortunately I am gone about 12 hours a day working and commuting, and don't have much time for him due to that and being a single parent. He's incredibly attentive and wants to closely follow (inside the house as well) those who he considers family. I would not characterize this behavior as anxious. I'm certain he feels that it's his duty. Due to his boredom and lack of training, he seems to have basically made his job into being overly protective and territorial. Because I don't have much free time, I can't properly train him and work him. He could use an experienced owner with patience.
